Gulf Prairies and Marshes

Join us in southeast Texas to search for three of the nation's rarest birds - Attwater's Prairie Chicken, Whooping Crane and Red-cockaded Woodpecker. These are three very different birds that rely on three very different habitats, yet they are all located in southeast Texas at this time of year. We will visit the pine forests north of Houston, the prairies west of Houston and the coastal marshes and beaches southeast of Houston and will undoubtedly uncover a long list of other birds along the way.
