Description

Natural Science Days are two-hour, interactive programs on nature, science and related topics at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve.
Intended for upper middle school through high school. Each day will generally begin inside with a presentation and activities, then move outside to experience the topic in person. Activities will emphasize hands-on learning. Dress to be comfortable inside and outside in any weather! Program takes place rain or shine.Led by our experienced environmental education staff.

We will meet the Second Friday of each month through June.
January 13: Survival 101
February 10: Survival 201 (building on Survival 101 skills)
March 10: Geocaching (bring a smartphone)
April 14: Pioneers in Nature (How humans used natural resources found on the frontier)
May 12: Tree ID and Carbon Sequestration
June 9: Insect Study

All programs take place at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve. Minimum number of registered students required. As of January 12, we have sufficient registration to hold all classes.

You are signing up for the entire six-visit series. No pro-rating or refunds for missed days (except for schedule changes initiated by ASWP.) Signing up for the January 13 class signs you up for all the days of the series. You may drop off your student or you may sit in on the class. Parents sitting in are no charge, but please register by selecting a parent ticket. Note that we do need at least one parent to sit in for safety policy. If you are sitting in and have little ones with you, we ask that you bring something to keep your little ones busy without interrupting the class. Parents dropping off are also welcome to enjoy the trails on their own. We have a nature play area (outside) that is particularly popular.

Feel free to conact Scott, sdetwiler@aswp.org, with any questions about the program or our drop-off/sit-in policy.
