Summary

Create some fall themed watercolors with artist Beth Slagle!

Description

Join artist Beth Slagle for some watercolor painting! Beth's favorite season is autumn, with each leaf its own colorful masterpiece. Capture the warmth of the season and join this progressive watercolor class where you'll create your own fabulous fall themed works of art. We'll be doing 2, 3 or more paintings. We'll start by learning some watercolor basics and then use leaves as the template for our first painting. You'll be able to paint your own frameable masterpiece and make notecards as well. And since it's that time of year, we'll then progress to painting your very own watercolor pumpkin.

You can create a kaleidoscope of colors with very simple watercolor techniques which give that gorgeous harvest blend. (Or go wild, and paint with neon!).

These simple paintings will look stunning framed. Everyone will be impressed with your creativity and each painting/notecard will be one of a kind.

Embrace the enchantment of autumn and join in the fun. No experience required; step by step instruction will be given. This program is designed for ages 16 and older.

Bring a variety of leaves to use as your template (we'll have a few on-hand as well). Space is limited so reserve your spot now! We will meet in the Classroom located on the lower level of the Red Barn.

About the artist: Beth Slagle is a self-taught photographer as well as painter and likes to explore different paint mediums, with an emphasis on watercolor and acrylic. Nature plays a large role in her artwork, and with each photo or painting, She thinks of it as telling a story. The creative process brings her a level of peace which she can lose herself in for hours. For a number of years, she has also been teaching painting and loves helping and inspiring others to pursue their creative journey. She's taught hundreds of students ranging in age from 5 to 85 and seeing the enthusiasm and joy in their eyes while they "create" is art in itself.

Art in one form or another has always been a part of my life and it has been influenced by my passion for travel, adventure, photography and painting. I see beauty everywhere and in the most mundane things whether it's a ripple on water or wrinkles on a face.
